The Holy Cross faculty was well represented at the meeting of the Orthodox-Catholic Bilateral Theological Consultation held on June 2-4, 2014 at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center of the Metropolis of Boston in Contoocook, New Hampshire.

 

Dr. Vrame Gives Keynote at Religious Education Conference in Bulgaria

Dr. Anton Vrame delivered the keynote address, “Teaching Orthodox Christianity Today: Challenges to Methodologies," at the Third International Conference of the Orthodox Christian Religious Education Association at the Faculty of Theology, St. Kliment Okhridski, Sofia University, Bulgaria.

 

Metropolitan Kallistos Ware to Speak at Divine Compassion Conference

"Divine Compassion and Women of the Church: Theological Perspectives" is the theme for the second in a series of conferences to take place at Holy Cross on June 20-21, 2014. The conference opens Friday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Maliotis Cultural Center with a keynote address by His Eminence Metropolitan Kallistos Ware.

 

Dr. James C. Skedros Named Dean of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology

New Summer 2014 Asia Minor Travel Seminar

Professor Paschalis Kitromilides (University of Athens) and HCHC alumnus Professor Tom Papademetriou (Richard Stockton College of New Jersey) will discuss the history of the Greek Orthodox communities of Asia Minor in the late Ottoman period. The seminar will draw extensively from the Oral History archives at the Center for Asia Minor Studies in Athens. It will also include travel to Cappadocia and Istanbul.

 

Dana-Farber Pioneer to be Honored at Hellenic College Holy Cross Commencement

Doctor George P. Canellos will receive an honorary degree from HCHC at the school's 72nd Commencement on May 17, in recognition of his more than 50 years of exemplary leadership and service.

 

HCHC Students Pay Tribute to Metropolitan Philip Saliba

With joyful sorrow, we received news of the falling asleep in the Lord of His Eminence Metropolitan Philip of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. Twenty HCHC students traveled to Brooklyn to pay their respects and attend the Metropolitan’s funeral.
