Hellenic College and Holy Cross Commencement

The 69th Commencement of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology will take place on Saturday, May 21st, 2011. An Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will begin the day at 7:30 AM in Holy Cross Chapel followed by Commencement in The Pappas Auditorium. Hellenic College will have fifteen graduates and Holy Cross will graduate forty three. This year's honorary degree recipient will be Dr. Christos Yannaras, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Cultural Diplomacy at The Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens. He received a doctorate in philosophy from The Sorbonne in Paris and a doctorate in theology from The Aristotle University in Thessalonica. Dr. Yannaras is the author of more than twenty books. Three of his more challenging works, Orthodoxy and the West, Postmodern Metaphysics and Person and Eros were published for the first time in English by Holy Cross Orthodox Press. He will receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
