Commencement Week at Hellenic College and Holy Cross brings to campus each year alumni celebrating 25 and 50 years since graduation as well as other alumni who visit to renew old friendships and support their alma mater. This year the HCHC Alumni Association will honor the 1961 graduating class of Holy Cross and the 1986 graduating classes of Hellenic College and Holy Cross. Festivities begin on Wednesday, May 18 with an all day Alumni Board of Directors meeting followed by Great Vespers in Holy Cross Chapel with the Holy Cross classes of 1986 and 1961 celebrating. Thursday morning, those classes will celebrate Orthros and Divne Liturgy in the Chapel followed by a Memorial Service for all those alumni and others attached to the schools in some way who have reposed..
Alumni General Assembly Meetings will be held throughout the day on Thursday, interrupted only by the now famous Alumni hosted BBQ for the entire community and visitors, prepared and served up by our very talented food service team. That evening finds the Holy Cross classes of '61 and '86 once again in the Chapel for Vespers and the Anniversary Cross Ceremony as well as a Recognition Ceremony for classes ending in "1" and "6".
Alumni celebrations conclude Thursday with the annual President's Dinner, this year honoring the members of the classes of 1961 and 1986 and their spouses as well as presenting the 2011 Alumnus of the Year Award to Protopresbyter Peter Chamberas, Class of 1961, and Chaplain of Hellenic College and Holy Cross.
