Professor Paschalis Kitromilides (University of Athens) and HCHC alumnus Professor Tom Papademetriou (Richard Stockton College of New Jersey) will discuss the history of the Greek Orthodox communities of Asia Minor in the late Ottoman period. The seminar will draw extensively from the Oral History archives at the Center for Asia Minor Studies in Athens. It will also include travel to Cappadocia and Istanbul.

The seminar is limited to eight students both upper level undergraduate and graduate students. Advanced knowledge of Modern Greek required. 

COST: Each student accepted as a Summer Fellow is required to pay a $750.00 fee. The Summer Fellowship is worth approximately $4,000.00, which includes cost of hotel accommodations (shared double rooms), some meals, travel from Athens-Kayseri-Istanbul-Athens, and tours of Cappadocia and Istanbul. Each participant will receive a reimbursement for up to $1,500 for International (US/Athens roundtrip) travel.
