Dn. Gary Alexander to Give Keynote Address at HCHC Academic Convocation
On Thursday, September 7, 2017, Hellenic College Holy Cross will host the 2017 Academic Convocation from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
With the Academic Convocation, the faculty, administration, and staff formally welcome new and returning students to campus for a year of learning and growth. The Convocation commends and honors our students’ success and affirms the mission of Hellenic College Holy Cross to develop their vocation for service to Church and society.
The convocation will begin with a processional of all faculty and students from the Archbishop Cavadas Administration Building to the Maliotis Cultural Center. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Dn. Gary Alexander, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Planning. Dn. Alexander has an extensive history of service to both Church and society. He is a nationally recognized public administration and healthcare expert, having served as the Secretary of Health and Human Services of two states, first Rhode Island, and more recently Pennsylvania. Dn. Alexander is an alumnus of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (MDiv ’15), received his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law, and has also completed Clinical Pastoral Education and served as a hospital chaplain. He has been a trusted advisor to governors and members of Congress and has appeared frequently in the media as a government expert. His love for the Church brought him to his current leadership role at HCHC.
Dn. Alexander's greatest passion is his love of Christ. His address will share his personal thoughts on how one can use the humility of Jesus to build the foundation of our entire spiritual life.
The event concludes with a communal luncheon to be held in the Condakes Refectory. We look forward to hosting you at this annual Hellenic College Holy Cross tradition.
