BROOKLINE, MA – The Rev. Dr. Christopher T. Metropulos begins today his tenure as the 21st President of Hellenic College Holy Cross. His appointment signals HCHC’s commitment to continue its advancement as the intellectual, educational, and spiritual center of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, stimulating, developing and sustaining ordained and lay vocations for service to Church and society. Fr. Christopher succeeds Rev. Fr. Nicholas C. Triantafilou, who served in the position for fifteen years.

Metropulos, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America said, “I kindly ask for prayers and support for the president and I express the need to work by any and all possible means to continue the very important legacy of the retiring president Fr. Nicholas Triantafilou. I strongly believe that by the contribution of all and the help of God, Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology will reach new levels of spiritual enhancement and academic achievement.”

Commenting on Fr. Christopher’s first official day, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Thomas Lelon stated: “After prepping himself during the month of June, Father Christopher has hit HCHC’s presidential landscape running. His spiritual and compassionate core, positivity, collaboration, pragmatism, and decisiveness are beginning to emerge, setting the foundation for his presidential ministry. May our Triune God bless and guide Father Christopher as he seeks to serve our sacred community of faith and higher learning.”

On his first official day as President, Fr. Christopher said: “It is a distinct honor for me to assume the Presidency of this sacred school. I am in awe of the commitment of the administration, faculty, staff and the students to Christ. The potential we have at HCHC to produce and nurture the next generation of servant leaders for the faith is without parallel. So many wonderful things are happening here and much is planned for the future. I urge everyone to listen, read, watch, learn and interact with us on this the Holy Hill of faith.”
