Students from Peiramatiko-Thessaloniki High School Visit HCHC
Seventeen high school students and two teacher-chaperones from the Peiramatiko-Thessaloniki High School (Experimental High School of Thessaloniki, Greece) visited Hellenic College Holy Cross on Thursday, January 28. The school is the alma mater of His Eminence Geron Archbishop Demetrios. The students, most of them upperclassmen, traveled to the United States to compete in an international Model UN Competition sponsored by Harvard University. They were one of three teams from Greece (and the only Greek state school) among teams from over 100 countries.
The visit to HCHC was arranged by Prof. Antigoni Papadimitriou, Hellenic College’s Management and Leadership Program Director, and Sara Ramirez, Interim Dean of Admissions. Coordination of the morning’s events was led by Stephanie Couchell, Admissions Counselor.
Dr. Demetrios Katos, Dean of Hellenic College, gave the guests an overview of the institution, with particular emphasis on the College. Greg Floor, Director of Admissions, and Michael Kirchmaier, Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships, also spoke to the group about their specific areas of expertise. The visit ended with a tour of the campus and lunch at Condakes Cafeteria.
The students learned much about the educational opportunities at HCHC and thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
