Senior Guild Visits

March 03, 2011

The Senior Guild of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Boston recently came to the campus of Hellenic College and Holy Cross to visit the Archbishop Iakovos Library and Learning Resource Center. Twenty members of the Guild spent time in the Archbishop Iakovos Museum which is located on the third floor of the Library. The Very Rev. Dr. Joachim Cotsonis, Director of the Library, gave a tour of the museum. There they were able to see the personal collection of Archbishop Iakovos, ranging from awards he received, to ecclesiastical items, to photos of him with every President since Eisenhower, to personal mementos and devotional objects. Many of the Guild members remember the Archbishop from the time he served as Dean of the Cathedral many years ago, something which made their visit particularly poignant.
