Dr. John Poirier is a Visiting Professor and Interim Director of the Management and Leadership Program at Hellenic College.
John Poirier is an expert in Human Resources Development and Management. As part of his consulting practice, he takes on the roles of executive coach, consultant, trainer, and facilitator to help clients develop the competencies they need to enhance organizational effectiveness, team learning, and individual performance. Dr. Poirier is also an educator who works with learners at the undergraduate and graduate levels who want to develop professional expertise in Human Resources Management and Leadership.
John earned his Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He also holds an MBA from Bryant University and a Master of Science in Organizational Development from American University in Washington DC. John also holds the SHRM-SCP designation from Society for Human Resource Management and SPHR from the HR Certification Institute.
John has a keen interest in how HR policy intersects with public policy and government regulation. He is particularly interested in how U.S. Supreme Court rulings affect HR policy and practice. John enjoys the outdoors and is an active cyclist, runner and hiker. He has been a rider in the Pan Mass Challenge since 2005, raising close to $100,000 for cancer research. He lives in Medfield, MA with his wife, Carol.
