One may apply for admission as a Special Student. Typically, a Special Student is one who, for one reason or another, does not technically fulfill all the requirements for admission as a full-time or part-time candidate for a degree. Special Student status may be held for only one academic year. Following this, a student must request full-time or part-time status or withdraw.
Students with Special Student status are ineligible for Federal Financial Aid, according to the Department of Education. In order to receive Federal Financial Aid, the student must be enrolled at least as a part-time student and registered for a minimum of six credits.
