Associate Dean of Students

Summary of Position:

To assist the Dean of Students in overseeing all aspects of HCHC’s student development and formation efforts. Coordinates student programs with special emphasis on serving the needs of female, international, and undergraduate students.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Dean of Students, prepare and conduct programs for the development and formation of all students.

  • Oversee and mentor the Student Government Association and the Campus Activities Board as well as the various clubs and organizations.

  • Assist the Dean of Students in conducting New Student Orientation.

  • Create programs and develop mentoring relationships with HCHC students with special emphasis on women, international students, and commuters. Serve as HCHC’s Title IX Coordinator.

  • Assist students to access necessary campus resources for spiritual, academic, financial, psychological, and physical well being.

  • Manage student workers in the Office of Student Life.

  • Coordinate student transportation and manage use of HCHC vehicles.

  • In conjunction with the Campus Housing Director and Dean of Students, enforce policies and rules set forth in the Student Handbook.

  • Assist the Dean of Students in conducting diciplinary proceedings and maintaining disciplinary records.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Higher Education Student Life campus setting

  • Masters of Divinity from an Orthodox Theological School

  • Active membership in the Orthodox church

  • Female preferred

  • Experience in spiritual direction/counseling of young adults

  • Experience managing and supervising staff

  • Knowledge of development issues of undergraduate and graduate students



  • Capacity to work well with other administrative departments and staff

  • Ability to relate to a diverse college student body and their families

  • Proficient in MS Suite

  • Must have strong problem solving and teamwork skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, flexible, able to manage and monitor multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Self starter with strong self management/self discipline skills
