Ordinations

 

 

Reverend Father Aristidis Arizi 

 The Reverend Deacon Aristidis Arizi was ordained to the holy priesthood by Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta at the Annunciation Cathedral in Atlanta. Priests of several Orthodox jurisdictions participated in the ordination liturgy.

Father Aristidis was born in Epiros and at a young age left Greece with his family and moved to Panama where they became members of the Annunciation of the Theotokos parish in Panama City. He served as an acolyte and chanter in the parish. After high school he attended the University of Panama and received a degree in teaching. He then left Panama and went to Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. Father Aristidis is fluent in Greek, English, Albanian, Spanish and Italian. He is married to Maria (Diamontopoulos) Arizi and has been assigned to St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church in Kendall, Florida, which he serves on weekends until he finishes his studies at Holy Cross this May.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Reverend Deacon Barnabas Powell 

 Barnabas Powell was ordained to the holy diaconate by Metropolitan Alexios of Atlanta at the Annunciation Cathedral in Atlanta. Deacon Barnabas will graduate from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in May of 2010.

Deacon Barnabas is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He was educated at Toccoa Falls College, an Evangelical Protestant school and served as a pastor to an Evangelical congregation. He discovered the Orthodox Church soon after and entered the Orthodox faith along with several families from his former Protestant group. He joined the staff of Orthodox Christian Network where he continues to be director of develpopment. He entered Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2007 to pursue a Master of Divinity degree. Deacon Barnabas is married to Connie (Demas) Powell and they have one daughter, Alexandra.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The Reverend Deacon Demetrios Kyritsis

 Demetrios Kyritsis was ordained to the holy diaconate by His Eminence, Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver, at the Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Deacon Demetrios is from Laramie, Wyoming, and is a long time member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was a member of the Larami Police Department for over 29 years, including some time as interim chief of police and was an elected member of the Albany County School Board for 21 years. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming. Deacon Demetrios and his wife, Katherine, have two children. Anna is a senior at Boston University and Niko is a junior at Hellenic College. Deacon Demetrios will graduate from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in May of 2011, when his son graduates from Hellenic College.

 

 

 Reverend Deacon Evagoras C. Constantinidis

Evagoras C. Constantinidis was ordained to the holy diaconate at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, Texas, by his godfather, Bishop Andonios of Phasiane. He is pictured here with Bishop Andonios and his grandfather, Protopresbyter Evagoras C. Constantinides and his father, Protopresbyter Christopher Constantinides.

Deacon Evagoras is a graduate of Monmouth College in Illinois and he enrolled at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2006. He has been active in church youth work and camps and has served as an Ambassador for HC/HC. He is married to Maria (Calendar) Constantinides and will graduate from Holy Cross in May of this year.
