Professor Paschalis Kitromilides to Present at Hellenic College Holy Cross

Paschalis M. Kitromilides, Professor of Political Science at the University of Athens and Secretary of the Governing Board of the Centre for Asia Minor Studies in Athens, is a renowned scholar and speaker who will visit our campus in Brookline from October 2nd through the 8th.   He is a prolific author in the field of political thinking in the modern age and an expert in the field of Asia Minor studies, and he will offer a lecture entitled “The Greek Presence in Post Byzantine Asia Minor and Its Academic Study” on Tuesday, October 4, at 3:30PM in the Maliotis Center.

In his lecture, Prof. Kitromilides will examine the history and condition of the Greek Orthodox communities in the peninsula in the late 19th and 20th centuries.  He will draw extensively on the records of the Centre for Asia Minor Studies in Athens to provide a visually evocative account of the Greek Orthodox presence.

Our faculty and students will also benefit from his presence on campus, as he will present his work at a faculty luncheon and as a guest lecturer in classes.

We hope that you will be able to attend this educational and poignant lecture about the Greeks of Asia Minor.
