25th Annual EFOM Lecture

The 25th annual Endowment Fund for Orthodox Missions Lecture will be a part of a conference sponsored by The Boston Theological Institute (BTI), a consortium of theological schools in the Boston area, of which Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology is a member. The conference, entitled "The Changing Contours of World Mission and Christianity", will be the fourth in a series of conferences held this year to mark the 100th anniversary of Edinburgh's missions conference in 1910. The first three were held in Tokyo, Edinburgh and Cape Town.

The Boston conference will take place at several BTI member schools. Holy Cross will host the conference on Friday, November 5, beginning with Vespers at 5:30pm in Holy Cross Chapel. The lecture, entitled "Journey to the Centre of Gravity: Christian Mission One Century After Edinburgh 1910", will be given by Dr. Athanasios N. Papathanasiou, editor-in-chief of the Greek Orthodox theological journal "Synaxis" since 1998, in The Maliotis Cultural Center at 7:30pm.

The Endowment Fund for Orthodox Missions recently established The Mission Institute for Orthodox Christianity at Holy Cross. Fr. Luke Veronis, Director of the institute, will introduce the institute at the evening's program.
