Spiritual Assessment: Using instruments, interviews, and reflective assessments students will have opportunities to address their spiritual and pastoral concerns. While required for the seminarians, any student may inquire about using this service.
Psychological Assessment: This resource exists to strengthen and enhance the students' emotional growth. While any student may inquire about using this service, it is required for those entering the Seminarian program.
These services are provided by the Danielsen Institute, which is a reputable and established licensed mental health clinic and a pastoral counseling center. The Danielsen Institute provides a wide range of assessment services for those seeking candidacy for ordained ministry or religious life. This assessment has been designed in collaboration with the Department of Spiritual Formation & Counseling Services and has been tailored to the needs and concerns of Hellenic College/Holy Cross. The assessments are designed to capture a comprehensive and balanced understanding of the student, which can be used as part of the student's overall emotional and spiritual formation.
All incoming Seminarian candidates should contact the Danielson Institute by the posted deadlines to schedule an appointment for the assessment. The usual fee for an assessment is $1100. HC/HC realizes that financial resources are limited for most students so to ease the burden half of the fee is paid by the School. The $550 balance will appear on the student's tuition bill as a psychological assessment fee.
