Individual Career Counseling Helps Students and Graduates Find Their Way

On May 9-10, 2013, the Office of Vocation & Ministry at Hellenic College Holy Cross offered individualized career counseling sessions with Amy Flynn of Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College. Ms. Flynn is a creative career development consultant with extensive experience in guiding individuals and teams to reach their professional and educational goals.
HCHC students asked questions and received assistance about pressing career-related topics such as:

• Choice of major
• Career options
• Resume and cover letter development
• Interview preparation
• Job search strategies
• Preparing for summer internships
• Professional networking
• Job search resources for the Boston area
• Searching for graduate schools
Hellenic College 2013 Valedictorian Sophia Kon met with Flynn, remarking, "Ms. Flynn was a big help with my resume especially and just a really good encouragement about the future. She gave me lots of great resources for writing resumes, cover letters, going to interviews and searching for jobs online. I'm definitely glad I made an appointment, and she gave me her card in order to keep up future communication.”
The Office of Vocation & Ministry provides opportunities for reflection on Orthodox Christian vocation while supporting students with career service counseling and workshops.
