Women In Leadership & Service

The Women in Leadership and Service (WiLS) student group had another great year supporting undergraduate women during their own vocation exploration at Hellenic College. The group’s focus on leadership and service was emphasized throughout monthly meetings, a retreat, and a service trip to Rosie’s Place (a local women’s shelter). In the fall semester, small group discussions were held on topics such as compassion, struggles in college, and Christian love. In December, WiLS coordinated and hosted the HCHC community Christmas party. The women used this party as a venue to fundraise support for their trip to Rosie’s Place where they would cook and serve a meal. The women raised over $500 for the shelter from among the student community on campus

The spring semester kicked off with the trip to Rosie’s Place and concluded with a Spring Retreat held at the Boston Metropolis Camp. Dr. Ioana Chireach (Hellenic College adjunct lecturer in Human Development) joined WiLS for the weekend to serve as a speaker and mentor. Led by OVM Assistant Director Kyra Limberakis, WiLS has been a wonderful place for the young women of Hellenic College to foster community and share in prayer and fellowship.
