2021 KALLINIKEION INSTITUTE INFORMATION

The Kallinikeion Institute at Hellenic College Holy Cross is an intensive Modern Greek language program, offering three courses (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced) taught by current or former members of the HCHC faculty. The 2021 program, which is open to both HCHC and non-HCHC students, will run from Monday, May 17, to Friday, June 11. Each student will earn six credits toward graduation upon successful completion of the ninety-hour syllabus.

    All classes are taught by members of the HCHC faculty.
  • How many students are in each section?
    Classes are limited to 15 students.
  • How much academic credit do participants earn?
    Each course offers six credits toward graduation.
  • What levels of Modern Greek will be offered?
    Instruction will be offered at the Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. An applicant for the Intermediate or Advanced level program must demonstrate appropriate proficiency in Modern Greek. The syllabus for each section covers 90 hours of instruction.
  • Is it possible to audit a course?
    Unfortunately, the program cannot accommodate auditors.
  • What does it cost to participate in the 2021 Kallinikeion Institute?
    Tuition for students not enrolled at HCHC is $4,000. Some discounts are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Students enrolled full-time at HCHC are eligible for scholarships, also on a first-come first-serve basis.
