  • DR. PATITSAS INTERVIEWED FOR BRAZILIAN DOCUMENTARY

    On December 13, a film crew from Brazil’s largest independent documentary film company, Brasil Paralelo, came to the campus of Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology to interview Dr. Timothy Patitsas for a project on the role of beauty in urban regeneration. The making of the documentary is motivated by the desire to see real change come to the favelas (slums) of Brazil, in which more than eleven million people currently live.   • HOLY CROSS PROFESSORS OPEN DRE SPEAKER SERIES

    On Sunday, December 19, the Department of Religious Education will present the first program in its new Speaker Series. Dr. James C. Skedros, Michael G. and Anastasia Cantonis Professor of Byzantine Studies, and Rev. Dr. Eugen Pentiuc, Archbishop Demetrios Professor of Biblical Studies and Christian Origins, will give a biblical-historical presentation on the birth of Christ.   • DR. LEWIS PATSAVOS RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE

    On December 3, Dr. Lewis Patsavos, Professor of Canon Law emeritus at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, was awarded a doctorate honoris causa by the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome. The conferral of this high and rare honor was within the framework of a two-day conference marking the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Institute’s Faculty of Canon Law.
