  • HCHC President Cantonis Visits Metropolis of Detroit

    HCHC President George M. Cantonis visited the Metropolis of Detroit on January 20 at the kind invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit. During his visit, Mr. Cantonis offered presentations on the school's current situation and future plans to large groups of clergy and laypeople, who warmly greeted his presence among them.   • HCHC President Announces New Appointments

    George M. Cantonis, President of Hellenic College Holy Cross, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bruce Beck to the newly created position of Director of Enrollment Management. Dr. Beck has been interim Dean of Hellenic College since July 2018, during which time he has played a central role in developing enrollment strategies. Dr. Beck will retain his faculty appointments as Assistant Professor of New Testament at both Holy Cross and Hellenic College.     The ordination of His Grace Bishop Joachim of Amissos took place on December 22, 2019, at St. Sophia Cathedral in Washington, DC. His Grace, a 1979 graduate of Holy Cross, will serve as an Auxiliary Bishop to His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America while retaining his position as Director of HCHC's Archbishop Iakovos Library and Learning Resource Center.     Dear HCHC Community, As you know, the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), one of HCHC's accrediting bodies, has been in continuous conversation with us as we restructure toward a sustainable education and business model. On November 21, 2019, a team of trustees and senior administrators presented to the Commission at a “show cause” hearing. Our presentation focused on specific areas of concern raised by NECHE in earlier meetings and correspondence.
