  • MARY HARRIS PAPPAS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED FOR FEMALE HELLENIC COLLEGE STUDENTS

    The Foundation for Hellenic College Holy Cross has announced the establishment of a scholarship in memory of Mary Harris Pappas, whose devotion to her family, academic achievements, love for the Orthodox Church, and desire to improve the lives of others is remembered and carried forward through the generosity of her parents, Harris and Vicky Pappas of Houston, Texas.   • SAVAS SEMINARIAN ASSISTANCE FUND ESTABLISHED

    On October 29, 2020, Mr. Irakli Savas delivered to HCHC, through President George M. Cantonis, the sum of $300,000 for the establishment of an irrevocable fund to be known as the Savas Seminarian Assistance Fund. The purpose of the fund is to help seminarians in need with housing expenses and other costs that are not covered by scholarships.     Devout men from all over the country have gathered on HCHC's campus every summer since 2005 for the Diaconate Program--until this summer, when the COVID pandemic made that impossible.
