Dr. Maximos Constas, Interim Dean of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, spoke at an online faculty seminar hosted by St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary. The title of his presentation was "John Geometres' Life of the Virgin and the Georgian Life of the Virgin attributed to Maximus the Confessor." Dr. Patitsas Publishes Book on the Ethics of Beauty
Dr. Timothy Patitsas (MDiv 1994), Interim Dean of Hellenic College and Assistant Professor of Ethics at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, has just published a book on The Ethics of Beauty (St. Nicholas Press). Missionary Jennifer Rice (MTS 2016) Returns to Campus
The HCHC community was delighted to welcome back Jennifer Rice recently while she was on furlough from her work as a missionary in the Guatemalan village of Aguacate under the auspices of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC). During her days on campus, Jennifer spoke to students about her experience as a missionary at Vespers and at an evening event hosted by the students' Missions Committee. Faculty and Students Attend Conference on Missions and Evangelism
HCHC was well represented at the National Conference on Missions and Evangelism held February 3-5, 2020, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus, Ohio. The theme of the conference, which was made possible by a grant from Leadership 100, was "Leading Change Toward a Healthier Parish." Fr. Jim Kordaris (MDiv 1999), the Director of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Stewardship, Outreach, and Evangelism, worked with Fr. Fr. Maximos Delivers Keynote Lecture at Orthodox-Catholic Dialogue
The V. Rev. Dr. Maximos Constas, Senior Research Scholar at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, delivered the keynote lecture at the third annual Orthodox-Catholic Dialogue and Lecture at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 13. Rev. Dr. Eugen J. Pentiuc, Archbishop Demetrios Professor of Biblical Studies and Christian Origins at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania. Dr. Thomas C. Lelon, HCHC President from 1976-1986 and longtime Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, was honored at an elegant dinner in Dowd Hall on September 11. His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, Interim President, presided over the dinner, which was attended by members of the Lelon family and of the current Board. His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros Pays Extended Visit to HCHC
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America visited HCHC for the second time in less than three weeks, having blessed our community with his presence at Synaxis and Convocation on August 26. This visit extended from September 10 to 14 and allowed His Eminence, who stayed on campus, to participate in many aspects of the life of the school, which he heads as Chairman of the Board.
